Your Opinions Please...

I have been reading a lot about immigration policy lately, and would like to know what anyone out there in the ether thinks about it.

Do you think immigration is good or bad for the economy? Should we allow immigrants access to social services? Should the children of illegal immigrants be eligible for Federal Stafford Loans and other forms of government financial aid to go to college? Should immigrant day laborers be offered centers or stations to pee in and eat at while they’re standing out in the sun waiting for someone to pick them up and tell them to paint a house? Should all Americans be forced to have a biometric ID? Will stemming the tide of immigration decrease the likelihood of a terrorist attack?

I’m interested in what you think both on a practical level and a philosophical level. For instance, philosophically, should people possess the right to move around and work where ever they wish, and practically, can the economy support the millions of people that are coming in every year?

I’ve got plenty of my own opinions about this, but I was just hoping to get a sample of what the people I know think about it.
