countdown

with officially less than two months left in taiwan, ive been compelled to think about what im going to do after im done catering to six-year-olds. of course, ive been planning the subsequent months of travel in color-coded excel spreadsheet format since last march. this is, however, surprisingly difficult to do. yeah, i know, what a TERRIBLE problem to have. im not complaining, really. im grateful. but still, it's amazing to think of that abyss of time and space out there and realize that in a few months ill be jumping right back into it again. even after college there was that business of paying off the loans, paying for rent in DC, and just paying in general. now that that is over, what is there? my next scheduled event isnt until june-ish, and even that event is so incredibly formalized that it calls for an 'ish'. dah. todd would tell me to take the GRE and the LSAT, and go back to school i think, but i dont think it's quite time for that yet. in another year or two.

i been thinking about that travel business... as my only restriction is the guilt that results from spending money i should be saving for grad school (in shallah), i might try a sort of cheap, random route. what about buying only tickets from cheapest destination to cheapest destination (no repeats of course)? every time i try to fit all the things i wish i could see into the time i have, i cant do it. so why even try? i mean, my last trip (philippines) was more or less an incredible accident; i only went there because it was way cheaper than bali or okinawa. besides, all that itinerary business is so stressful. i already have like five white hairs.

anywho, as to taiwan, life is as always. i dont blog much anymore because nothing really happens that hasnt been happening for the last ten months. had halloween recently. pieced together a sort of "james brown at mardi gras" costume out of a metallic silver cape and a glittery mask. i dont think the kids really appreciated it. getting ready for a christmas show in december. it's kind of like the last showdown. as soon as im done with it, im in the clear. so far im making one class do short reports on countries around the world, and another do a skit-version of The Grinch. unfortunately, as KTV is god in taiwan, christmas is likely also going to be an homage to kareoke carols. dah.
